Oat Flour

Oat flour is one of the best gluten-free flours. Instead of the protein gluten which is common in wheat and rye grains, oat flour is rich in avenins - an oat specific set of proteins. Oat flour is rich in soluble and insoluble fiber. Beta-glucan soluble fibers in oat flour limit the absorption of  cholesterol into body. Dietary fiber intake has been linked with reduced risk of coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease. Known as a nutritional powerhouse, flaxseeds are rich in fiber, omega-3’s and lignans. Flaxseeds are a low-carb friendly food (In 100g of carbs, there is 1.5g of carbs). Their high fiber content naturally suppresses hunger and promotes digestive health. The omega-3 content of flaxseeds consists of alpha linolenic acid (ALA) which decreases inflammation by reducing pro-inflammatory proteins. The lignans in flaxseed promote lower levels of cholesterol as well.
